Hundreds of 250-liter rainwater-harvesting systems have been installed over the years at the homes of the poorest residents of the Plateau, and 2017 saw the installation of fifty more tanks. This strategy providers water during frequent droughts, and it is much cleaner.
The big change came when, on July 7, 2015, a company called Water is Life finally hit a water source after digging down 450 meters on the Plateau. A well and pump were installed, and there is now 500 gallons of fresh, pure water available every hour. The well is next to the school and across from the hospital, so the quality of those two operations is immensely improved.
